Technology Reflection - Kauri - T4W2

Yesterday we had technology. It was very cool when we arrived we got into our groups. I am in cooking so Ms Tuipulotu told us what we are going to cook. We were cooking rock cake. It was pretty hard because some groups did not follow the recipe and ended up with gooey mixer instead of hard and kinda gooey. So Ms Tuipulotu fixed it and put more flour so it wasnt to gooy but more thick them watery. When we finished making the mixture we put the mixture on a tin then put the oven on 180 and cooked it slowly.

When it finished we took it out and put it on the cooling racket. Then Akanesi came around with the phone and took photos of the rock cake and how it turned out. Me and my pairs which is Michael rock cake turned out a bit burnt but was very fantastic. After that we put chocolate sauce and whipped cream then enjoyed our meal. Unfrountanley I didnt get sent the photos but will forsure being getting sent the photos next week when we make something nice. :D - Thanks

Indigenous Game - Kauri

This was a game that Ms Kyla taught us about. It was a hand game. You had to stand opposite to your partner and play each other. There is the actions and instruction in this google drawing. This game was very challenging and hard because me and my pair didn't understand it. But then we were slowly getting used to it. I had a better understanding of the game and it was slowly staring to be better. What I like about this game is that it works on your reflek because once your opponent does a move you have to try and do another move. And what I need to work on is trying to be a little bit faster when I am playing because my pair gets me our straight away. But it was a fun experience and I cant wait until we get taught another game just as fun as this one.

About John Pule - Kauri

Today we had a task to complete. It is about John Pule who is a famous artist and it very good at drawing. He is a very good artist he also raises money for foundation to help them out. In my drawing I am talking about him and giving information on what he does and about himself. There are a few images that are his drawing which look very fantastic and amazing. He uses a lot of detail and colours to make his drawing stand out and look even more better. He was also born in 1962 april and he must of got into doing art from his parents or it must be in their blood.

I hope to do more of this task because it is really fun and exciting to learn about how these people go into this hobby and why they love doing it a lot.

Zones of Regulation - Kauri T4W2

Today we had a task to complete which is about Zones of Regulation. This is talking about your emotions and how you can help yourself to get to the green emotion. It talks about the different colours and what emotion it is. Blue is bored, tired and sad and a few more. Green is happy and ready to go and a few more. Yellow is Excited, Frustrated, Nervous, Anxious and more. And the last but not least is Red. This is mad and out of control. I like this task because it was fun and very cool. Cant wait to do more of this because it was so fun and awesome. I have learnt about a lot of things and how you can help other people to express their emotions.

Cure Kids - Kaure

Today Room 10 participated in a Kelly Sports event to support Cure Kids.
Cure kids is a company who raises money for the kids who are being diagnosed with diseases such as, cancer, asthma and other things that are very bad diseases.
That means by us donating and giving a coin donation for people that are wearing muffety which has to be red, we had to give a coin donation to help out the kids that are struggling.
An example of ways they support children's health is the money people donate doesn't go to the kids it goes to the scientist and other people who figure out what they can do to come up with a medicine to cure the disease.
The effect of their work/research is that it is helping kids to get better and making more kids survive so their families don't have to go through a hard time when they pass away. It also is saving families a lot of money because they don't need to keep spending money on medicine.
Today I participated in a event that Coach Alan and his team set up for the day. It was a few games that were very fun. An example of the game we played was ball tiggy. It was boys vs girls and the girls had to start first, they had to get a ball without throwing it at a opponent they had to try and pass the ball around to their teammates and try and get us. The other game we played was Noodle Hockey.
This game was very fun and exciting we got split into 2 groups and we had to stand on a colour mat and when coach Alan calls out a color the person on that colour has to run. They had to go and grab a noodle and start hitting the ball towards their goal.
And the final game we played was called Capture the flag. Just like I said we got split into the same teams then we had to line up. There was 4 hula hoops on each of the sides with cones in them. There was 2 defenders in both teams who stand in the cone and had to try and wack the person who was trying to steal the cone. They weren't allowed to hit them high they could only hit the legs. Then if you grab a cone you had to run back to your base, and if you get hit you gotta run back to your base and restart. By supporting Cure Kids, I hope my impact is helped you and maybe you can support them so they can live a life just like you. If you would like to find out more information or find out to donate click this link- CureKids - Thanks

Term 4 Goals - Kauri

Nau mai, hoki mai ki taku rangitaki.
Ko tenei te wahanga tuawha o te tau! Kei te pehe to hararei?

One thing I am really looking forward to this term is Rugby. Rugby on Wednesday the 18th of October. We will be versing other schools and I am very looking forward to watching my friends and pairs play against other school and watching them participate and also just having a good time when they are out there on the field. I am also looking forward to the waiwera pools but if people want to go they have to pay their technology fees which cost $50 then they will get to come to all of the fun trips that the year 7 n 8's will be going to this term.

And my personal goal for next year to try and reach national standards so it will be much easier for me to accomplish my goals when I move on to college next year. And to set good goals for my self and to try and reach it. Also working hard having a positive mindset.

To fully enjoy these end of year opportunities, I will need to remember to have a growth mindset, work hard to never let anyone distract you when you are moving for or up a level because they might make you go back down and not accomplish your goals which you were going for. I will need to be more respectful and to teachers and to my pairs. Participate and Contribute in more activities.
