Jeep Design at Technology

Hi everyone this is my Design I built it is a Jeep. We had to design 5 things at Technology today and I done it and sent it to Miss Ferguson. I hope you like the design and it is on a game sight. This is the picture of one of the car's I brought. I designed my jeep all black because I like the colour.

John Key steps down from Prime Minister.

Hi today we had to complete a John key task. And it is about when John Key steps down from Prime Minister. He didn't want to become Prime minister now because he thought to himself that he needed to be closer to family. So he stepped down and I think it might be Bill English that will be New Zealand's next Prime Minister.

Letter for the Supervisors at Camp Raglan.

Today we had to create a card for the supervisors. I have finished my card and I am just talking about how I really loved it and how I want to go back because they are very king people and generous. I love there food that the Cooks made for us, it was very delicious and nice. And also my best highlight when we we were at camp was shooting the Air rifles why I liked it was because I almost got the bullseye and also because it was very cool seeing students that were afraid of it but actually gave it a go for the first time. But back to the letter thanks for everything that Martin and Cathy done for us and also the rest of them.

Camp Activity - Kauri

Hi today we were learning about Participating and Contributing and also Relating to others, it is for camp in raglan. We are talking about the thing that we came up with. And some ideas we came up with is for Participating and Contributing was Joining in a group, Helping others, Bonding..

Then after we finished that Ms Aireen put us in our camp team and we had to come up with a name related to the Participating and Contributing. The name we came up with is Man up. And the other name that we cam up for our cabin is T.P.S brothers. It was a very cool activity to do and I can't wait until we go camp because it will be very fun and exciting.

Manaiakalani Festival - (Kauri) - Buddys (Kingston and Salu)

Today Rm10 buddied up with Rm 3. My buddys were Kingston and Selu, 3 things we liked about the movies is that it was fun, cool and it was a good because you to see other schools, like Pt england, Panmure Bridge and  Glenbrae... They movies were cool to watch because they were funny and exciting. Kingston's favourite part was when Siale and Petra threw the rubbish in the office and the thug life music came on. And the favourite part that we like is when PT england put the exercise balls at the beach and done flips on it. Thanks for Viewing my work have good great day.:D

Buddy Class - High - Velocity V8'S!

Today we had our buddy class. I was with Stanley and the book we were reading about is, High-Velocity V8'S. Stanley says he liked the book and he said that it was very interesting to read. And it is talks about how the cars were built and how fast they go. It taught Stanley and also me about how cars work and how fast the racing cars speed can go up to.

1. The v8 cars can reach a staggering speed of 300km per hour

2. v8 cars can hold 120 liters of bioethanol fuel.

3. Each v8 supercar has especially designed five-liter v8 engine.

4. A man named Jamie Whincup is one of the best v8 motorsport driver.

5. People take out some parts of the v8 car to make it faster and lighter on the ground.

6. Each year there are only 28 drivers picked to compete in the V8 supercars.

7. There are also V8 Trucks that racing but they mostly are the trucks that bring the v8 cars to the race. The trucks put the v8 cars inside.

Hi today I am starting to make my next design. I am drawing a rugby shoe and that is it on the top. All I need to do is too make it on the real cardboard. I hope do well because it will look very cool if I add in the colour and other things to the shoe because it makes the shoe stand out more. The Intense Journey!! - Narrative Writing

The Intense Journey!!

One spooky cold day, in Florida 4 friends decided to go into the forest too have a explore. They bring stuff with them so they can protect themselves from others that decided to do something bad.

They stopped at a shop and brought a torch and some survivor stuff like water and food. They arrived the point where they are exploring. Toma says are you sure about this bro’s we say back to him yeah of course there isn't going to be anyone in there and if there is lucky we got some equipment to protect ourselves. While we are seeping through the branches and rocks, Falakiko here’s a loud scream and a little girl crying. We all stop and look at each other. But Maui and Kauri aren't afraid to go in more then…

A little girl starts running towards us and we froze because she had a little hobbit with her which was as small as a pin. Then she ran straight past us and 20 meters in front of us she was there sitting on a tree. Kauri and Maui said too the friends should we go and say hello and check what she is doing. Falakiko and Toma said no don't what if she tries to murder you’s, but Maui and Kauri didn't listen to his friends and then they walked up step by step and said “hello are you there” she wouldn't respond. 5 seconds later she stands up and screams, and then she turned into a witch. We ran for our lives, then Toma tripped over a tree branch that had fallen of the tree. Maui stopped and grabbed him. Instead of picking him up and running again Maui grabbed Toma and chucked him on his back and started running. Kauri and Falakiko slowed down for Maui to go in front because he was slower because he had Toma on his back. We ran for like 30minutes non-stop that's how scared we were. Finally Kauri looked behind him and saw that she wasn't there but that didn't make us stop running we ran until we could see light from cars, and finally we did.

The boys said I'm never going back in there, Toma saw a public person and asked if he called borrow his phone to call the police. The public person said “WHY” then Toma just took it off him and then the public person said “Hey Give It Back”. Toma rang the police and then they picked up Toma said can you please go to the forest in Florida where the ocean is they came straight away and we told them where she was chasing us from and we said she was also with a small hobbit creature but the hobbit wasn't chasing us.. They were looking for days but they couldn't find her. So they decided to make put it on the news, and it said Warning to all People out there if you live in Florida please make sure you don't go too this forest because there is a witch in there. The police blocked it off and no one was allowed to enter. When we got home we told our parents and other friends but they didn't believe us, but they did until the news came on talking about how 4 boys went into a forest and saw a witch. They were shocked and horrified. Our parents were yelling at us because we didn't tell them that we were going to the forest alone. They said don't ever do that again without permission and we said “Ok” and walked off.

The problem was solved and we got some rest and we Lived Happily Ever After and carried on with our lives until we get old.

Kauri's - Oblique Shapes

Hi today we were at Technology and we were learning about Oblique shapes. The shapes we came up with is, Bi = 2 , Tri = 3 , Quad = 4 , Pent = 5 , Hex = 6 , Hept = 7 , Oct = 8 , Non = 9 and De = 10.
It was very cool doing Oblique shapes and I had fun drawing my Initials. Here is a photo of my work that I did on oblique shapes. I hope you like them and I can't wait to do more, because it was very fun and cool.

My Personal Learning Goals 2016

My Personal Goals For Term 4 2016!
I am learning to set personal goals that I will achieve through a growth mindset.
These are my goals I want to acheive cause when I am in college I can do the exams that they give us real quick. And when I am older I can order for a wonderful and cool job with heaps of money.

Maths with Mrs Pine - Kauri

Today my group which is Pio , Maui and Me. We were learning about Maths fractions, Mrs Pine was teaching us how to solve hard questions really easy. The question was 7 bars and 4 children. We first started off with giving each kid 1 bar, then were had 3 bars left from the 7. Then we cut it to quarters and gave each child 3 pieces. Each child gets 1w and 3/4's. The equation for this problem is 7 divided by 4= 1 3/4. We found out a faster way that Mrs Pine showed us is that, You get the 3 bars from the 7 bars because you only divide to 4 children and there was 3 left. Then you get the 4 from the 4 children and the answer is 4/3.

Kauri's Technology Reflection

WALT: make a flying pig at Technolgy. It is very cool to make a flying pig, Ms Ferguson is very cool and I like working with her. I cant wait till the Next technology and hopefully we can finish off my flying pig and give it to my Nephew who can hang it up in his room and see it flapping its wings. Kauris Loud Shirt Day

WAL: about Loud T-shirt day. Loud T-shirt day is about deaf people. The key Ideas we came up with as a class is. Bright T Shirt, Clothes, To help people that are deaf, Hearing aids, Animal onesies, Build Team spirit, Mexican and also to help deaf people hear again. We are celebrating the Kiwi Kids that have been born with it or that have been around loud stuff like Lawn mowers but most deaf people they get affected from playing music too loud.

Some kids if they are really deaf or don't like hearing aids they wear Cochlear implants. Cochlear implants is something they put some medal inside just above your ear and you grab these things that look like hearing aids and they connect it to the Cochlear implant and they can hear. They have to get used to it before they can finally hear, it takes a very long time to get used to it because it is such a very big thing. Thats all I have to say and thanks for viewing my work.

Author's Purpose 'Household Chores'

Hi today my group got given a task to complete. We have to write 2 - 3 paragraphs about a text we just read. But we have to summarise it. The Text we were reading is called 'Household Chores'.

it is about people agreeing or disagreeing about if kids should have the same responsibility as adults when they are at home. But a boy named Tom who is 12 years old he enjoys doing chores at his house because he wants to help his Mum and Dad at home. But when his friends come over to his house they laughed at him because they see him helping his parents with chores. Tom just ignores them and carries on. Also Tom likes doing chores because he gets rewarded for doing them. He also said by doing chores at a young age when you grow older you will be a pro at it when you get your house.

Kids think that doing chores is boring but for Tom it is very cool and exciting. Tom's Mum is a very keen gardener she is always out in the yard doing stuff to her garden and Tom goes and helps. Tom's says the more you help out your Mum and Dad the more you get rewarded and also the more they love you. Tom says I cant imagine being at home and not helping out. We spend a lot of time at home together, sharing everything and learning from each other. Even Tom's little sister has to keep here room tidy and her toys someone tidy.

• What is your viewpoint about the role of digital media and how these digital media plays a big part in your life today? R E	Reason #1 1- State your first reason 2 - Support your reason with an example	My most important reason why people shouldn't fight is because people will be dead their families will be broken hearted and very sad. Also people will get hurt and could lead them to hospital but the most important thing is that people will be sent to jail they would have a bad future and if you murder someone you will probably be sent to jail for the rest of their lives. For example if I saw someone in a fight you will probably try stop it and then call the cops. They will be handcuffed then sent to court and they will have to talk about what they did and if it is very bad all if they started it they will be put in their for for long the judge says.
	Reason #2 1- State your second reason 2 - Support your reason with an example	I think that we should not fight because you will be in very serious danger because if you hurt someone's gang member and if they find out they will start to hunt you down and it will get very serious because everybody from everyone's family will start to fight. For example there is a gang in NZ called the Headhunters and one of the co-leader’s son went to a party and he got into a fight and someone cut him with a machete. As soon as the Headhunters crew found out that someone killed one of their members. They all were riding on their bikes and trying to find the dude who killed the headhunter guy. The found him and started to beat him up.
	Reason #3 1- State your third reason 2 - Support your reason with an example	My other most important reason is that mostly in fights a lot of people carry around weapons which a very dangerous like Knifes , Guns and other sharp things. If you are every seen with a weapon you will be arrested and been answered why you will carrying around that weapon. Most people say I am carrying the weapon around because it i get into a sticky situation I can use it on people. But that is not a excuse they still go to court and get arrested. And if you are into a fight and you manage to use your weapon you get it taken off you and be sent to jail for a long time.
O	Opinion Summarise your argument by restating your opinion	I am against fighting because it should be stopped or else a lot of people will get hurt and be in jail. We don't want to make people be in jail it is because it's not fair and also it its mostly from them taking drugs.

R E	Reason #1 1- State your first reason 2 - Support your reason with an example	I think that we all should be different because if we all were the same it will be boring. For example if everyone was angry all the time people will get frustrated and other people will start to kill. The world will end. At school sometimes people mock each other. I find this sad because they are calling other people names and talking about their family especially parents. What if everybody did this all the time? It would lead to frustration and violence. We need good people in the world and also leaders to support us and give us a better environment.
	Reason #2 1- State your second reason 2 - Support your reason with an example	It is good to be different because it's fun. It was good to visit my brother who lived in Perth. I liked to meet other people in his country.  They were kind and I also liked the environment there and also the city. It was very cool we went to the bowling zone which was extremely cool. He took us to the ferris wheel and then he took us to have dinner by the beach. It was so good to be in a different place with different people. Another xample is a Rugby Team that all have different skills.   It is when they combine their skills together to make a very good controlled team.

She is very helpful and it keeps my house a very nice place to be. My Dad is a very hard worker too. He goes to work each day so he can earn money for my family. These people are unique and special to me. Another example is my friend Kiko. He helps me with work at school and I really appreciate it when he helps me a lot with my work.

Title	Olympic Sports - Discus
Introduction: Opening Statement (no more than 3 sentences) Brief description about about the key ideas in this report.	The Sportdiscus is very old they used to play it in the ancient. They made it out of rock. The is very skinny and flat. It will be pretty hard back in the days because a lot of there stuff is mostly made out of rock and heavy metal stuff.
Paragraph One	Too play discus you have too grab a discus put it in your hand and then swing it back and throw it very far. The first game was a few years ago. It was created by the greece people. And the egypt ashens
Paragraph Two	The ancient discus was made out of stone then it moved onto bronze then off to lead or iron. It weighed 1,3 to 6,6 kg's the average weight is 2,5kg. The discusses was lighter for the boys then for the adults.
Paragraph Three	The ancient Greeks considered the rhythm and precision of an athlete throwing the discus as important as his strength. The discus was shaped like a flying saucer. The boys was not allowed too through the same weight as the men's because it will be too heavy.

Conclusion	Discus is very cool. It is made out of Plastic , Wood , Fibreglass , Carbon fibre , metal with a metal rim and a metal core to attain the weight. A good discus too throw is 1.6kg because it is not too heavy or too light it is a perfect weight and size.  The kids that are 11 too 14 years old a good weight for them is 1kg too throw.
